All ZIP Committees are non-profit organizations. Fourteen of them cover sectors of the river from Lake Saint-François to Châteauguay, Montreal east and west, Lake Saint-Pierre, Les Deux rives, the Quebec City region and Chaudière-Appalaches, the Saguenay, the North Shore, Chaleur Bay and the Îles de la Madeleine. Government representatives assist the ZIP Committees at the regional level.
